Meet Ms. Annabel!
Hello, my name is Annabel Hernandez and I’m new to Renaissance Elementary! I was born and raised in Mexico City, moved to Texas in 1994 and new to Colorado state.
I have been teaching for nine years, six in the classroom and three as an Instructional Specialist for gifted and talented students in San Antonio, Texas. I earned a Bachelor's degree and a Master degree in Bilingual Education at Texas A&M San Antonio University.
My passion is transforming students through critical thinking using their own experiences, and to create a cultural classroom environment where we are all welcome, grow together and celebrate our differences!
I love to spend time with my family, my two boys and my husband. I have two dogs, a chihuahua and a shih-Tzu. I love to be outdoors, exercise and play board games. I’m looking forward to being part of the community, making new friends and enjoy the journey.
