Meet Ms. Sandra!
I moved to Colorado from Wyoming when I was 18 years old and love everything about our beautiful state. I have raised two amazing children, but didn’t do it alone. I had the help of the amazing teachers in the Douglas County School District. They both are happy and successful and have such wonderful memories. I also have two rescue dogs, Harley and Stella. I believe in being healthy from the inside out and love, cooking, the outdoors, meditation, yoga, paddle boarding and am always up for adventure.
I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado and have since earned a masters in technology and my administration certification. I have taught math of all levels. I loved creating a unique classroom that invoked curiosity, smiles and laughter as students gained confidence and understanding of the curriculum. The reward of seeing their confidence increase in and out of the classroom was such a gift! I have also had the amazing opportunity of being able to build and implement professional development for the district and have served as an Instructional coach and International Baccalaureate Coordinator. This is my 29th year in education and in the Douglas County School District. I am dedicated to making a positive impact to ensure our children are confident, kind and successful in all they do. I honor and role model collaboration, communication, open-mindedness, balance and actions of principle. I value differences in personality, learning styles and approaches. I believe in utilizing the strengths of each other to grow, innovate and be the best and most kind humans we can be. And, I am honored to be a team member at REMS!
