Winter Gear Lists

In the case of inclement weather for voyages, Renaissance will follow DCSD for all weather-related delayed starts, cancellations, etc. If school is delayed, we will also have a delayed departure for the voyage. A 90-minute delay means that you would arrive between 10-10:10 am and the bus would depart at 10:30 am. If school is cancelled, the voyage departure would be moved to the next day (weather permitting).

Medications
  • Only essential medications are sent on a voyage. Essential medications include daily and emergency medicine and must be provided by the parent the Wednesday prior to voyage departure the following week.

  • Any student requiring medication (prescription or over-the-counter) during the voyage, needs to deliver the medication with the Provider  Medication  Authorization Form (signed by the physician) to Renaissance two weeks prior to voyage departure the following week. **Please note that all submitted medications will be reviewed by our district nurse as to whether the medication is feasible and necessary to take on the voyage. Parents will be notified of any issues by our health assistant as soon as possible.

  • Any daily medication and emergency medications or changes in dosage will require a new                                Provider Medication Authorization Form to be completed and signed by a physician and parent.

  • There is no supply of Acetaminophen or Benadryl provided by the school and can only be sent by the family for a pre-existing medical condition and prescribed by a physician.

  • Please contact Nicole Cole, our health assistant, with questions. She can be reached at 303-387-8003.

Renaissance will be offering Voyage Information Sessions to provide information on necessary gear to pack, district medication policies, and highlight the voyage goals and experiences.
