Kristen Nein

4th Grade Crew Teacher

Meet Mr. Kristen!

I have been living in Colorado since I was 6 years old and went to elementary and high school in Douglas County. I currently live here in Castle Rock with my husband, Preston, our twin boys, and our daughter. All 3 of our kids are at REMS this year and it is wonderful to see them everyday! Our boys are in 2nd grade and our daughter is a 6th grader. We live on a small ranch with our 2 dogs, fat cat, 2 horses, 2 lizards, and 4 fish. In my spare time I love to spend time in my garden, paint, travel with my family, and watch sci-fi movies. I spend my summers paddle boarding at our family cabin in Washington, and I love to go rock hunting for petrified wood on our family's ranch near the Nebraska border.

My undergraduate degree is in Wildlife Biology from CSU and spent my first years after college working in various National Parks doing field surveys. Then, the National Park Service hired me to teach their curriculum in classrooms...and that's when I knew I wanted to teach. I left the field to get my master's degree at CU in teaching and have loved every teaching opportunity I have had. I am so excited to be a part of this school!
