The Stewardship Cafe
The lunchroom at Renaissance Elementary is named the Stewardship Cafe as a reflection of one of the school's character traits. By reflecting on stewardship when entering the lunchroom, students are reminded about the expectation to keep our school and world clutter free, to conserve, and to be responsible for their environment.
District Lunch Policy
No elementary student needing a lunch will be refused lunch. Students with a negative balance will not be able to charge a-la-carte or snack items nor will they be able to order 'seconds'.
Nutrition Services will inform parents when there is a negative balance via an Infinite Campus Messenger email sent to families. Parents can keep track of their student's balance and lunch purchases by signing up for an online account with My School Bucks.
Nutrition Services will work with parents who may need additional financial assistance. Parents can complete a Free & Reduced Lunch Application online.
Parents may check their student's lunch balances through their Parent Portal account or for more detailed information and payment options, visit www.myschoolbucks.com.
Parents may opt out of the a-la-carte item purchase and/or seconds program (link above).
Supplement your Sack Lunch
Our Harvest Bar is filled with fresh fruits and veggies that are available to all students even if they don't buy school lunch. Save some time at home and have your student take a trip through the Harvest Bar for only $.75.
Breakfast
Renaissance does not serve breakfast.
Got Water?
We always have a Hydration Station with free water for every student.
Seconds Anyone?
The DCSD "Seconds" program allows any elementary student with sufficient funds in their account to buy a second entrée for the additional price of $1.75 and milk for $.75. The cashier will approve or decline a second entrée based on account balance and/or availability.
If you do NOT want your child to receive seconds, please complete the Student Lunch Account Purchase Restrictions form
