Musical Theater

The 2017 - 2018 Musical Theater presentation is...

Beauty and the Beast!

Musical Theatre Enrichment is open to all Renaissance students in 5th and 6th grade. This enrichment fosters leadership skills, independence, strong work ethic, stage presence, improvisation skills, character development, musicianship, and so much more.

The benefits of being involved in the arts are endless; thank you for supporting your child in this endeavor.

Please understand this is a BIG commitment. Rehearsals are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30-8:30 before school, and we will begin Wednesday after-school rehearsals in April and May.

The show's success is dependent on every family volunteering, both at school and at home. Cast member will need to practice at home on a daily basis; working on music, choreography, blocking/acting, and memorization.

Any 5th or 6th grader who enrolls will get to be on stage for the musical. If a student wants to audition for a role, we will be holding those auditions during rehearsals in December. The directors will cast the show and all decisions will be final. The cast list will be sent out over winter break. It is imperative to start teaching our kids now that all roles are important, as well as the life lesson of making the most of what you have. Please help us all develop the mindset of "crew" with this. We are so excited to continue the musical this year at Renaissance!

Our goal is to make this show and the rehearsals as close to a professional theatre experience as possible. It is going to be a great show!

Thank you so much for your interest in the Musical Theatre Enrichment! We can't wait to start!

Rehearsals are Tuesday and Thursday mornings (before school) from 7:30am-8:30am.

We will add after-school rehearsals on Wednesdays in April and May; 1:15pm-4:00pm or 6:00pm (refer to info sheet hand-out).
