Our Guidelines

Renaissance Core Beliefs and Behavior Guidelines:

  • You may engage in any behavior that does not create a problem for you or anyone else in the world.

  • If you find yourself with a problem, you may solve it by any means that does not cause a problem for anyone else in the world.

  • You may engage in any behavior that does not jeopardize the safety of yourself or others. Unkind words and actions will not be tolerated.

Drop Off & Pick Up Procedures

  • Parents must use one of the four surrounding parking lots or the Kiss & Go Lane

    • In the parking lot, parents must park in a designated, legal spot and walk their student to the cross-walk personnel or school

    • In the Kiss & Go Lane, parents must remain in their vehicle; students should exit onto the sidewalk

  • Students must remain with their crew until parents pick up directly from their teacher(s) or through the Kiss & Go Lane

  • Students can only enter a Kiss & Go Lane car when it is one of the first two cars and must check-out with their teacher

  • The Kiss & Go Lane is closed during Storm Dismissals

  • For student walkers, parents must email teachers with written permission allowing their student to walk

    • Student walkers must have a home to enter at the end of their destination

Hours and Attendance Info

  • First bell rings at 8:30am; late bell rings at 8:40am

  • Dismissal bell rings at 4:00pm

    • Wednesday dismissal is at 1:00pm

  • Students go directly to class after first bell rings

  • All persons - students and visitors - coming to the school must enter through the front door

  • For any absence or late arrival, call the attendance line at 303-387-8002

Communication

It is the parents'/guardians' responsibility to keep the school updated with current records and changes,

as well as to stay informed about school and District events.

 

What We Need From YOU:

  • Parents must contact the school Registrar when any household/contact information changes and update their phone, address, email, legal name, etc.

  • Both parties must contact the school Registrar when households separate and provide updated contact & address information.  Additional District paperwork may be required.

  • Parents must contact the school Heath Assistant with any health or medication information changes. 

    • Proper, District paperwork must be completed.

 

What You Can Expect From US:

  • Renaissance communicates with parents through a Weekly Newsletter.

    • It is the parents' responsibility to stay informed.

  • Renaissance communicates Crew information through email from Crew Parents.

    • Parent/Guardian emails will be shared with Crew Parents.

 

Adventure Education Voyages

  • The learning embedded in Voyages is part of the Renaissance Curriculum

  • These learning experiences can not be replicated during regular class time or with make-up work

  • There is an expectation that all students participate

    • In the event a student is not able to attend due to a special circumstance, they must stay home during the Voyage dates

  • Students who become ill or show disruptive behavior on Voyages must be picked up at camp by their parent(s)

  • Providing proper gear is expected and essential for the success of a good experience

  • Approximate arrival times are posted on the Event Calendar

    • Any change in arrival time will be updated on the Event Calendar

  • If your student has a unique health or dietary need/situation, contact the Adventure Education Coordinator or the front office
