"My kindergarten crew had a lot of input about what they wanted in their learning environment: things to build with, a place to build, and a variety of seating options. With the REA grant money, we were able to purchase manipulatives, materials to build a maker-space table, a puppet theater, and some fun seating options.

Wow! This generated a lot of excitement and energy to discover, build, and create, which gives us momentum to all the exciting learning ahead. I love that Renaissance fundraising directly impacts the kids and their learning!"

"Thanks to the REA and the Life is Art fundraiser, we have been able to make our classroom much more child-centered and developmentally appropriate. I have always loved the Reggio Emilia approach to educating children. I recently read a book called, The Teacher You Want to Be edited by Matt Glover and Ellin Oliver Keene which is a series of essays written by various teachers who went to visit Reggio Emilia, Italy to learn more about this style of education. It renewed my motivation to provide this type of learning environment for my crew. Thanks to the classroom environment money that we received, we were able to make some changes to our classroom (adding shelves and comfortable seating) to allow the students to have more choice in what materials they would like to explore. We will continue to tweak our plan but now everything is now easily accessible to the students and they are loving it!"

"I spent a lot of time thinking about and researching what we needed in our classroom.  I sent out a Google survey and the kids also had input on what they would like to see in the classroom, such as more high tables.  We have had fun creating our space; the kids had many of the ideas and I facilitated them in a way that would be useful and cost friendly! Thank you so much to REA for making it possible to create environments that are more useful and beautiful!
