Meet

Ms. Annie

Hi, I’m Ms. Annie!

Originally from Tennessee, I have called Colorado home for the past 10 years, where I live with my family. My husband and I have four children: Piper (12), Evan (10), Jio (3), and Evie (1). We are an active family who loves snow skiing, snowshoeing, camping, pickleball, soccer, and embarking on new adventures. I also have a passion for painting and creating art.

Our family is unique and special. Piper, our eldest, has Aicardi syndrome, a rare condition present from birth. Despite the challenges she faces, Piper has persevered and remains a happy, sweet little girl. Our journey has included profound moments of joy and sorrow, including the loss of our third biological child at four months old. This experience led us to become a foster family, and we have since cared for many children. Recently, we joyfully adopted our little girl Evie and continue to care for Jio.

Perseverance and service are central to my daily life. Piper's journey has taught me the true meaning of perseverance, and I bring this resilient spirit to my teaching and personal life. Our experiences as a foster family have deepened my commitment to service, as we've opened our home and hearts to care for children in need. These values shape my approach to teaching, where I strive to create a supportive and nurturing environment for my students.

My educational background includes a B.A. in Psychology and a Master’s in Elementary Education, both from the University of Tennessee. I have taught Kindergarten and am now entering my second year of teaching fourth grade. I also have a background in nursing, and hold my CNA licensure.

I have a deep passion for education, with a focus on student engagement and discovery. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to fostering a learning environment where every child can thrive and grow. As your child’s teacher, my goal is to make this year one of growth, development, and exploration. I look forward to embarking on this educational journey together!
