Halle McMillen

SEL Interventionist

Meet

Ms. Halle

Hi! My name is Halle McMillen and I am the Social Emotional (SEL) Interventionist here at Renaissance! My job consists of teaching social emotional lessons to crews, working on social skills with students in small group settings, and providing regulation/behavior support as needed! I also lead our IMTSS support team. Before starting at REMS I was a classroom teacher in second and third grade for three years. Prior to graduating from Indiana University with my Bachelor's in Elementary Education, I received the amazing opportunity of teaching in Dublin, Ireland for three months. In 2023 I completed my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Trauma and Resiliency.

I moved to Colorado in 2022 from Bloomington, Indiana. I have absolutely loved living here and getting to explore! In my free time you will find me painting, reading, or kickboxing. I also love hanging out with my pets; two dogs named Myah and Nico, as well as a cat named Brooks.

The best part about my job is getting to know all of your students and being in their crews with them on a weekly basis! It is so much fun to get to work with them on friendship skills, problem solving, emotion management, goal setting, etc. and know that these skills are vital to not only our culture here at REMS as Crew, but also to creating a healthy sense of self for them as individuals. I look forward to another great school year!
