Meet

Ms. JoAnna

Passionate about Expeditionary learning and looking to join a dedicated group of educators, I am happy to join the REMS Crew! From a young age, I always knew I wanted to work with students. There is nothing that brings me more joy than helping a student figure out what they are good at and inspiring them to take it to the next level. I am a lifelong learner and enjoy new challenges.

A native of California, I moved to Castle Rock in 2006. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Elementary Education. I have also served in Douglas County, as a Gifted and Talented Teacher, and a Reading Interventionist. I have worked in both the Private, Charter and Public School arena. Previous to joining REMS, I served as a Sixth Grade Teacher at Larkspur Elementary for 16 years. I have been working with Fifth and Sixth Graders for 23 years and these are my PEOPLE!

I am married to my handsome husband Timothy Dietz, and have 2 children whom I adore. My son, Caleb Berg, who is 21 and studying Business and my daughter Madison, who will be a sophomore at Colorado State University, Fort Collins next year, and is studying to be a veterinarian.

In my spare time, you can find me spending time with my family and friends, cooking, hiking, paddle boarding, tubing, out with my Women’s Adventure Group, working out, gardening, or participating in some way in the maker community. I love all things that showcase CREATIVITY!

I believe in first developing relationships with my students and then working on inspiring and supporting them to tackle problems and create solutions that will make a difference to them both personally and others in the real world. Looking forward to our educational Journey together!
