Sarah Backus

2nd Grade

Meet

Ms. Sarah

Welcome! My name is Sarah Backus and I’m excited for another great year here at REMS. Teaching in a community like we have is very special. I have a deep passion for education and at its core, student connection, engagement, and discovery. I have been involved in education for many years, both as an educator and as a parent. I have a Master’s in Education from Regis University and have taught health, fourth grade, and second grade in Douglas County. I truly enjoy teaching second grade, as it’s a great year of achievement and adventure!

Though I grew up in California, Colorado became my home many years ago. I love all of the natural beauty and sunshine here! My husband and I have two kids who keep our lives very vibrant. I love spending time with my family and friends, being outdoors, watching our kids’ sporting events, hanging out with our two dogs, jogging, reading, and living lake life whenever possible!

I look forward to the fantastic experiences, development, and partnership this year has in store for us in second grade!
