We place great value on volunteering. Volunteers are an integral part of the education provided at Renaissance. Numerous studies show that parent involvement in the school and classroom has a positive impact on student success in school. We value the knowledge, insight and skills of our parents, and openly welcome them to participate in our school community.

Volunteer Coordinator

At Renaissance, we ask all families to volunteer a minimum of 40 hours (or a minimum of 60 hours if you have multiple students) each school year.

Did you know?

Renaissance families logged close to

10,000

volunteer hours last school year, providing invaluable support to our students, staff and school.

There are a great variety of volunteer opportunities at Renaissance. A few examples are: assisting teachers in the classroom; working with children one-on-one; serving as a chaperone on a Voyage or field work expedition; belaying during climbing weeks; helping in the library; getting involved with our parent organization - REA - to help with special events, fund-raising, hospitality and the like; joining the SAC board; and being a Showcase panel member.

Volunteers who are unable to contribute during school hours can often take projects home to complete or can help with special events.

Volunteer Log

Please log your volunteer hours through the link below.

We keep track of volunteer hours so that we can acknowledge your efforts and also to quantify the support given to our school. Please make a separate entry for each volunteer activity. If you volunteered multiple times for the same activity, you can make a cumulative total for the month or quarter. Thank you so much for the time you spent helping our school!

Volunteer Spotlight

Tiffany DeYoung

Our family has been a part of the Renaissance Community for 9 years.  My husband Jason and I have four kids, two which are REMS alums, a daughter in Ms. Samantha's 3rd grade Crew, and a son that will be starting Kindergarten next year.  When our oldest began Renaissance for first grade we fell in the love with the tight knit community.  I began volunteering as Crew Parent and then took on the Volunteer Coordinator position in 2013.  I really enjoyed this because it gave me the opportunity to build friendships with the amazing staff and parents at the school.  I got to see first hand the importance of volunteering and how Renaissance really stands out because of the enormous involvement parents have here.   This year I decided to step out of my position as Volunteer Coordinator and join the REA Board as President. I am enjoying all of the new opportunities that come with this role and all of the people I get to volunteer beside.
