Jordan Sax

Performing Arts Teacher

Meet Ms. Jordan!

I am passionate about anything and everything performing arts! I started my first dance class in Kindergarten, acted, and sang in my first show in 2nd grade and I have not stopped since! I was in show choir throughout elementary school, in middle school I moved on to stage shows, and in high school, I was in choir and theatre. I have spent the last two summers working as a production assistant on Harry Potter and the Cursed Child! While there, I was able to learn how professional theatres are run, meet lots of cool people, and do some magic, of course! Some other interests of mine include fashion, traveling, and personality tests! I love going to the beach! I also really enjoy going for hikes and exploring the beauty that Colorado has to offer.

I was born and raised in the great state of Colorado. I attended Cherry Hills Village Elementary, West Middle School, and Cherry Creek High School!  My family is about as close as any family could possibly be, especially after getting stuck together for the last few months! :) I have two little sisters that I love more than anything. Peyton, the middle child, is 17 and a senior and student body president at Cherry Creek. Brooke is 13 and an 8th grader at West Middle School. I also have two golden doodles named, Dug (after the dog in Up!) and Frank. We also just adopted a cat named, Gus.

I moved away to New York City for my freshman year of college to study musical theatre at Marymount Manhattan College. I decided that the actor life wasn’t for me, and I came back to my beautiful home state and attended the University of Northern Colorado, where I graduated with a BA in Theatre Education K-12. I have always felt passionate about working with kids and I could not imagine my life without theatre. So, I decided to combine the two! The best decision I ever made was to change directions and become an educator.

REMS is unlike any other school in many different ways. The core values truly align with my own and I wanted to be a part of a community that strived to put themselves out there and try new things. I also chose to join because very few elementary schools offer kids the opportunity to learn about all the performing arts (music, drama, and dance). Like, how cool is that? AND I get to teach it!
