3rd Grade Crew Teacher

Zach Vine

Meet Mr. Zach!

Hello! My name is Zach Vine and teaching at Renaissance is my passion. I’ve worn many hats throughout my career in education but this one is my favorite. I began as an instructor with Chess-in-the-Schools, teaching the game to second grade students across New York City. That experience motivated me to become a classroom teacher and so I went on to earn my masters degree in childhood education.

After teaching chess, 5th grade, and K-5 STEM for several years, my wife and I decided the Rocky Mountain state would be a better place to raise our two young kids. So we packed our things into a U-Haul truck and moved from Brooklyn to Colorado. It was an especially easy decision for me because I’ve been a lover of the outdoors for as long as I can remember.

I attended the Colorado Outward Bound School and the National Outdoor Leadership School in Alaska. When I’m not in the classroom or spending time with my family, I’m outside trail running, mountain biking, skiing, skateboarding, or hiking. I think there’s something special about time spent adventuring in the outdoors, reflecting on discoveries, and continuing the journey as we learn and grow.

The REMS mission and vision are perfectly aligned with my teaching philosophy and I’m honored to be part of the Crew. Our holistic, child-centered approach to teaching and learning allows me to build strong relationships, serve as a positive role model, and help all of my students become their best selves. It’s wonderful to be part of such a supportive and joyful school community. I’m looking forward to the voyage that lies ahead and I hope that we cross paths along the way.
